The FlexNet tools require installing the Linux Standard Base package (version 3.0 or later) on your computer.For example, on RHEL and Fedora, type:
# yum install redhat-lsb.i686
On Ubuntu and Debian:
# apt-get install ia32-libs
# apt-get install lsb-core
On SUSE (SLES, OpenSUSE), using the graphical installer:
# yast2 -i lsb
or using the command line installer:
# zypper in lsb
For security reasons, it is strongly recommended that a specific user is created to run the service. A new local user is typically created using the useradd(8) command. This guide assumes that user flexlm is created this way:
# useradd flexlm
